La Crosse Regional Airport is set to receive federal funding.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin has announced that four airports in Wisconsin will receive over $6 million in federal funding. This funding aims to enhance safety, replace critical equipment, and upgrade facilities.
The four airports set to benefit from the funding are located in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Marathon County, and La Crosse.
Senator Baldwin emphasized that local airports support the Wisconsin economy by facilitating business and tourism, and the funding will help them manage increased traffic and maintain safety.
The anticipated funding allocation per airport includes: Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport - $2.87 million for lighting and taxiway rehabilitation, Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport - $2.07 million for new snow removal equipment, Central Wisconsin Airport in Marathon County - $862,209 for a new fire-fighting truck, and La Crosse Regional Airport - $223,200 for building rehabilitation.
