Kentucky Track and Field finishes Paris Games with six medals, four golds.
Masai Russell claimed the gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing with a time of 12.33 seconds. This victory marked a significant achievement for Kentucky Track and Field, highlighting Russell’s exceptional performance in a competitive field.
With Russell's win, Kentucky Track and Field has now produced gold medalists in consecutive Olympic Games in the 100m hurdles. Furthermore, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn secured the bronze, making it a momentous occasion for the Wildcats.
In the women's 4x400m relay, a team composed of Kentucky athletes not only won the gold medal but also set an American record with a time of 3:15.27, narrowly missing the world record. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Alexis Holmes contributed significantly to this victory.
The Kentucky Track and Field team concluded the Olympic Games with a total of six medals – four gold, one silver, and one bronze – marking the most successful Olympic performance in the program's history.
