Launch of New Master's Program
Starting in fall 2027, the WashU McKelvey School of Engineering will offer a new master’s degree in artificial intelligence engineering. This program aims to uniquely prepare graduate students for competitive roles requiring expertise in engineering AI systems.
Program Structure and Curriculum
The master’s degree requires a minimum of 30 credit hours, split into 18 core requirements and 12 elective credit hours. The curriculum is designed to impart a deep understanding of the computational techniques and systems essential for AI engineering.
Academic Standards and Application Process
Students enrolled in the program must maintain an average grade of B- (GPA 2.7) across all 30 credit hours. Applications for this new program will open on September 1st, with additional information available on the McKelvey Engineering website.
