SSE says the outage is caused by a common fault that engineers are used to dealing with.
Overview of the Power Cut
More than 400 people in Berkshire were left without power for almost seven hours due to a fault. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) reported the outage affecting 408 customers across 39 postcodes in Newbury at 13:08 BST.
Restoration Efforts
By 21:00, the number of affected homes had decreased to 157. SSEN indicated that teams were on the scene aiming to restore power to the remaining customers by 23:59.
Cause of the Outage
The power cut was attributed to 'the most common type of fault' on the underground network, with SSEN assuring that its engineers were experienced in handling such issues.
