Cause for SWAT Deployment
The JPSO was called to respond to a situation involving a man who was reportedly suffering from a mental health crisis. Upon arrival, the man allegedly opened fire at the deputies.
Safety Status
Fortunately, no deputies were injured during the incident. The man involved is armed and remains barricaded inside the home, but Jefferson Parish school officials have stated that no campuses are on lockdown and all students are safe.
