James Taylor, Mickey Guyton and Jason Isbell were scheduled to perform at the Democratic National Convention Monday night. Taylor's performance ended up being cut, here's why.
Who is James Taylor?
James Taylor was set to be the final DNC performer Monday night. Although he has a history of performing at DNC events, this time his performance was cut due to time constraints caused by applause interrupting the speaker schedule. Taylor has an impressive career with hit songs like 'Fire and Rain' and 'How Sweet It Is,' and he was also seen warming up at the United Center on the night of the event.
Who is Jason Isbell?
Jason Isbell performed 'Something More Than Free' at the DNC in a navy tuxedo with a black bowtie. As a six-time Grammy Award winner, Isbell is known for his guitar work and has a history with the band Drive-By Truckers. Isbell released his eighth solo effort, 'Weathervanes,' last year and is well-respected for his artistry in music.
Who is Mickey Guyton?
Mickey Guyton expressed excitement on social media about performing at the DNC. As a Grammy-nominated artist, Guyton made history as the first Black female solo artist to earn a Grammy nomination in a country music category. She performed her unifying anthem 'All American' during the Democratic National Convention and has been a vocal advocate for other Black artists in country music.
