Afa Anoa’i was best known for teaming alongside his brother Sika Anoa’i as the legendary tag team The Wild Samoans. They began their careers in the 1970s, achieving recognition in various wrestling promotions, including WWE.
Dominance in WWE
In the 1980s, the Wild Samoans dominated WWE by capturing the World Tag Team Championship three times, earning a reputation as one of the most feared tag teams in wrestling history.
Return to WWE and Training Future Stars
After a brief retirement, Afa returned to WWE in 1992 as a manager for The Headshrinkers, a team that included his son Samu. He co-founded The Wild Samoan Training Facility to train future WWE Superstars, including notable talents like Batista.
Induction into Hall of Fame
In 2007, Afa and Sika Anoa’i were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, solidifying their legacy as one of the greatest tag teams in the history of sports entertainment.
