Clemson University is hosting AI Office Hours and a series of workshops throughout June. These offerings are designed to help faculty, staff, and students build practical knowledge, explore AI in various contexts, support responsible AI use, strengthen understanding, and connect the University community with helpful guidance and resources.
Virtual AI Office Hours
AI Office Hours provide an informal virtual space for faculty, staff, and students to ask practical questions about using artificial intelligence in teaching, research, and daily work. The session on Wednesday, June 3, at 1 p.m., will feature a panel of Clemson AI experts from CCIT Research Computing and Data, the Center for Career and Professional Development, Clemson Libraries, and the Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation, addressing topics like academic integrity, advanced AI tools, and evaluating AI-generated information.
AI Skills and Custom GPTs for Research
CCIT Research Computing and Data will host this hands-on workshop on Thursday, June 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Researchers will learn how reusable AI assistants can support recurring tasks such as literature triage, draft feedback, and research planning and communication. The session will also introduce practical strategies for designing and evaluating Custom GPTs and Agent Skills.
Locating reliable information using AI
Clemson Libraries will host three introductory virtual workshops to deepen understanding of the digital information environment and the role of AI tools in locating reliable information. These sessions will focus on using generative AI tools to find sources, experimenting with prompting techniques, and reviewing AI-generated responses for potential hallucinations, faulty reasoning, and bias. Workshops are scheduled for June 10th (Understanding AI Tools), June 16th (Using and Applying AI Tools), and June 23rd (Analyzing and Evaluating AI Tools).
