DoorDash has introduced an AI-powered onboarding tool that streamlines the process for new merchants. This tool can automatically extract essential business information, such as photos, store hours, and menu items, from a merchant's existing website to generate a preliminary listing on the DoorDash app. Merchants can then review and refine this auto-generated content before publishing their official listing.
The company has significantly revamped its video library, enabling merchants to utilize video content more effectively. A key enhancement allows merchants to tag specific dishes within their videos, which directly facilitates customer ordering of those items. The updated library also provides valuable analytics, including total video views, sales directly attributable to video content, and insights into new customer acquisition driven by videos.
DoorDash is providing restaurants with new AI-driven photo-editing tools to enhance their dish presentation. 'AI Retouch' offers functionalities to replace backgrounds, sharpen images, and optimize lighting, all while preserving the authenticity of the dish. 'AI Replate' goes a step further by digitally manipulating dish photos to achieve a professional plating aesthetic, adjusting lighting and color. Additionally, merchants can use a reference image to apply a consistent stylistic treatment to their existing photo catalog.
The commerce platform has received new features, notably allowing restaurant owners to generate full-fledged websites directly from their existing DoorDash content, including menus and photos. During initial testing, this feature demonstrated an impressive average order conversion rate of nearly 10%. Furthermore, a new marketing campaign builder has been integrated, offering merchants the ability to automate content creation, manage email outreach, and schedule marketing efforts, thereby simplifying their promotional activities.
