The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says employees have been given the all-clear after an emergency alert caused an evacuation Friday afternoon at a technology company on the city’s southwest side.
Police Response
Police were called to BAE Systems, an aerospace and security company at 4250 Airport Expressway, just after 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
Miscommunication
Officers at the scene stated that the emergency alert was activated following what they termed a 'miscommunication', confirming that no shots were fired.
Evacuation Details
Employees were evacuated from the building before being allowed to return to work once the situation was deemed safe.
