The law firm announced Thursday that it has rolled out the AI software Harvey across the firm, saying it will boost contract analysis, due diligence, compliance and litigation.
Global law firm Faegre Drinker has formally integrated generative artificial intelligence tools, Harvey and Microsoft Copilot, and expanded ethics training across its operations. This initiative aims to enhance workflow efficiency, improve client service, and facilitate better problem-solving within the firm.
Harvey, an AI platform specifically designed for legal and professional services, is now available to all Faegre Drinker lawyers, consulting professionals, and staff. Its capabilities include legal research, comprehensive contract review and comparison, drafting and analyzing legal documents, identifying risks or missing provisions, and completing due diligence tasks. Over 142,000 lawyers in 1,500 organizations currently utilize this software.
Alongside Harvey, Faegre Drinker has also rolled out Microsoft Copilot, a large language model (LLM), to all its personnel. This AI tool is adept at transforming complex data into natural language, enabling lawyers to handle routine and time-intensive tasks more efficiently. This increased efficiency allows legal professionals to dedicate more time to critical legal analysis, strategic planning, and direct client service.
To ensure that the new AI tools are used effectively and responsibly, Faegre Drinker has significantly expanded its AI training program. This enhanced program includes dedicated ethics instruction, guiding professionals on how to utilize the technology with confidence and integrity. The training focuses on integrating AI tools into legal workflows, understanding their appropriate application, and recognizing their inherent limitations.
