AI tools aim to simplify everyday browsing tasks, alongside an integrated VPN feature in Firefox's major update.
Mozilla is preparing a significant update for its Firefox browser, which will include a built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN) and new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tools. These changes are designed to enhance user privacy and provide more control over their browsing experience.
The upcoming update will feature an integrated VPN that conceals the user’s location and IP address. It will offer a limited monthly data allowance in specific regions and replaces a previously separate paid VPN service, now directly incorporated into the browser.
Firefox will also introduce new AI tools to assist users with common browsing activities. These tools will enable functionalities such as content summarization and product comparisons directly within a web page, eliminating the need to navigate away. Other new features include split-screen browsing and tools for organizing notes across multiple tabs.
In addition to privacy and AI features, the update will bring redesigned settings and a refreshed user interface. Mozilla states that these interface improvements are intended to deliver a more personalized and contemporary browsing experience for all users.
