Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to change the world, including how we learn, work, communicate, and prepare students for the future. Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) invites families, staff, students, and community members to join them for a Community Conversation about Artificial Intelligence in our schools.
The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) is hosting a community conversation to engage families, staff, students, and other community members on the topic of Artificial Intelligence in educational settings. The initiative acknowledges AI's growing influence on learning, work, and communication, aiming to foster an open dialogue about its implications for students and schools.
The community meeting is scheduled for October 6, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the LTUSD District Office located at 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. The primary goal is to gather diverse perspectives and ideas regarding the impact of AI in education, both currently and in the future, as AI becomes an increasingly integral part of daily life.
A significant portion of the evening will be dedicated to discussing AI's effect on student learning, including addressing concerns about its use. A presentation from a student's viewpoint will be provided by Student Board Member Miri Lucksinger, offering direct insights from the student community.
Attendees will participate in small group discussions to generate ideas and considerations for the future of AI within LTUSD schools. These conversations will explore potential opportunities, identify areas of concern, and help shape the district's strategy as AI technology continues to advance and integrate further into educational practices.
