DoorDash is launching DashBuddy, an AI-powered assistant designed to provide instant answers to Dashers, especially new ones. Its primary goal is to simplify the onboarding process by addressing common questions like how to schedule a dash, locate hotspots, or understand payment cycles, eliminating the need for support calls. DashBuddy operates via SMS text, offering quick and accessible information. Early results show that DashBuddy has successfully resolved approximately 95% of questions from new Dashers and those who interact with it before their first dash are more likely to complete a delivery within three days. Currently live in the U.S. and Canada, DoorDash is also exploring a 'Voice Mode' for DashBuddy to further enhance accessibility.
Beyond assisting new Dashers, DoorDash is rolling out advanced AI-powered tools directly within the Dasher app to help experienced Dashers maximize their earnings and achieve their goals. These tools offer personalized recommendations, such as suggesting optimal times and locations for dashing, tailored to individual preferences and schedules. For instance, a Dasher can inquire, 'When and where should I dash on Friday?' and receive a customized response, perhaps recommending 11 AM to 2 PM in their neighborhood to align with personal commitments. These new features are being deployed across the U.S., showing promising initial results in empowering Dashers to make smarter, more confident decisions and get more value from every hour spent on the road.
