Oneida County is actively investing in its future workforce by providing participants of the Summer Youth Employment Program with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Awareness course. This comprehensive program, developed in partnership with Mohawk Valley Community College, introduced approximately 80 participants to the rapidly evolving field of AI during the first week of August. The curriculum was designed to give students a practical understanding of AI's significant impact on education, various career paths, and daily life. Additionally, the course covered crucial aspects of digital literacy, such as identifying AI-generated misinformation, including fake videos and manipulated online content, and underscored the enduring necessity of critical thinking skills in an AI-driven world. The initiative reflects the county's commitment to equipping its youth with the knowledge and skills vital for navigating a technologically advanced economy, ensuring they are prepared for opportunities AI will generate.
